Yo soy la primera a la que no le gusta ver perros paseándose constantemente por los blogs. No es que no me guste que la gente presuma de sus perros, sino que lo hagan demasiado a menudo. Pero de vez en cuando se puede hacer una excepción, especialmente si aprovechas para sacarte fotos mientras que estás paseando a tu perro. Pero bueno, aquí lo que interesa no son nuestras mascotas, aunque mi perro sea el perro más bonito del mundo (jejejeje), lo que interesa es el look. Y aquí os enseño una de mis últimas adquisiciones, fruto de mi visita a las rebajas de H&M. Pero no, no es de rebajas. Porque nunca falla, es ir a echar un vistazo a las rebajas y volver a casa con media colección nueva...

I'm the first one who doesn't like seeing dogs all around the blogsphere. It's not that I don't like people showing off their dogs, it's just that I don't like seeing them practically in every single post. But from time to time you can make an exception, especially if you take your outfit pics while you are walking your dog. Anyway, the important thing here are not our pets, although you can't deny I've got the most beautiful dog in the world (hahaha), the important thing is the outfit. And here I show you one of my last purchases. The other day I decided to make a little visit to the sales at H&M, but no, I didn't get this dress at the sales. I can't understand how every time I go to the sales I come home with half of the new collection...

Dcode

Se acabó el Dcode. ¿Y qué puedo decir del festival? Pues que me lo he pasado genial. Este festival me ha sorprendido muy gratamente. Incluso grupos como My Chemical Romance a los que fui a ver sin ningún tipo de expectativa disfruté como una enana. Bueno, como una adolescente, que al fin y al cabo yo era muy fan de ellos en mi adolescencia. Otros como Band of Horses, a los que tenía unas ganas enormes de ver, no me defraudaron en absoluto. Y luego están los grupos que ya había visto en otras ocasiones, como The Ting Tings y The sounds, que consiguieron que me sintiera como si les viera por primera vez. ¿Y qué ha sido lo mejor del festival? Pues haciendo una encuesta entre mis amigos creo que todos coincidimos en afirmar que The Hives son de lo mejor que hemos visto nunca. No sólo la música, sino el espectáculo continuo del cantante. Todo un maestro de ceremonias que hablando esa mezcla de español/inglés super currada hizo que el público lo diéramos todo. Otro de los momentos de la noche fue el fiestón que The Ting Tings nos metió en el cuerpo cuando tocaron Hands, ¡increíble! En definitiva creo que ha sido un minifestival de 10 y que encima he disfrutado más aún por poder llevar a mi hermana de 13 años a su primer festival, y seguro que no olvida la experiencia.

Aquí os traigo algunas fotos de mis segundo día. El primero sólo llevamos cámara de usar y tirar, así que a ver si hay suerte y sale algo decente para enseñaros otro día.

Dcode is over. And what can I say about the festival? Well I had an amazing time. I was pleasantly surprised by the festival. I even enjoyed the bands I wasn't expecting much from, like My Chemical Romance. I went back to my teenage years singing their songs. I have to admit I was a huge fan of them when I was younger, so it was nice to finally get to see them. There were other bands that I was really looking forward to see, like Band of Horses, and they didn't disappoint me at all. There were others, like The Ting Tings or The Sounds, that I had already seen before, but I actually felt as if it was my first time at one of their shows. And what was the highlight of the festival? After a little survey amongst my friends, we all agreed that The Hives is one of the best bands we've ever seen. Not only their music is good, but the singer is a complete showman. He was a great entertainer. And it was so funny how he spoke a mix between Spanish and English, it's great to see how some bands make an effort to speak the language. Another of the best moments was when The Ting Tings sang Hands and the crowd went crazy, best party ever! In conclusion, this minifestival has been a great experience, and what has made it an even greater experience is the fact that I could take my 13 year old sister to her first music festival, I'm sure she'll never forget it.

Dcode time!

Hoy empieza para mí oficialmente el verano, aunque visto lo visto empezó mas bien hace una semana. Lo importante es que en unas horas comienza el Dcode y con ello un finde de música en el que pasaré muy poco tiempo por casa. Así que para no tener esto abandonado, os dejo con esta foto, preludio de lo que espero sea un gran finde de fiesta. Mínimo tan bueno como la fiesta de la foto, que empezamos Cynthia y yo con unos mojitos en Yube para acabar con un baño piscinero a las 9 de la mañana en mi casa...

Summer has oficially started for me, although to be fair it already started a week ago. In a few hours I'll be attending Dcode music festival in Madrid so I hope to have a great weekend sorrounded by great music. I won't be spending a lot of time in front of the computer, so I leave you with this picture from last Wednesday's party, when Cynthia and I started with a few mojitos in Yube and ended going for a swim at my pool at 9 o' clock in the morning...

Quién me iba a decir a mí hace unos años que el rosa iba a acabar siendo uno de los colores principales de mi armario. Pues así es. Mi pasado oscuro cada vez queda más atrás. Y como la cosa va de rosa, hoy he vuelto a la pelu a teñirme de nuevo las puntas. Creo que el pelo rosa me va a acompañar buena parte del verano.

Who would have thought that pink would become one of my basic colours in my wardrobe? Well, it is. I guess I have definitely left my dark past behind. And talking about pink, I went to the hairdresser's today to dye my hair again. I think pink hair will be accompanying me most of the summer.

Glasvegas

Ayer fue el gran día. Por fin pude ver en directo a uno de mis grupos favoritos. Saqué mi yo más groupie con mi bandera de Escocia a cuestas y disfruté como una niña pequeña. También vi el concierto de Likke Li. Ella estuvo increíble, pero el recinto cerrado no era lo más recomendado para un concierto. Por suerte si no recuerdo mal también tendré la oportunidad de verla en Portugal. Y la noche terminó con un gran descubrimiento: Caribou. Tanto me gustaron que me quedé dándolo todo hasta el final. ¿Lo malo? Que ese examen que tenía que hacer hoy al final opté por no hacerlo, siempre nos quedará septiembre. Mientras tanto yo ya he empezado mi ronda de festivales veraniegos. La próxima parada será el Dcode, donde confío sacar fotos en condiciones que pueda enseñar en el blog. Si no fuera por mis compis de concierto no tendría ni estas fotos para enseñar. Yo estaba demasiado metida en mi papel de fan loca....

Yesterday was the big day. I finally got to see one of my favourite bands. I acted like a crazy fan carrying my Scottish flag around and I had the time of my life. I also had the chance to see Likke Li, she was amazing, but it was too hot in the venue so I couldn't enjoy the concert as much as I wanted to. Good thing I think I´ll have the chance to see her again in Portugal. To end the night I discovered an amazing band: Caribou. They were that good that I decided to stay till the end. The bad thing is that  I decided not to take the exam I was supposed to do today, I'll have to do it in September. In the meantime, I have oficially started my festival season. Next stop will be Dcode, where I hope to be a better blogger and take some good pics for the blog. Not like yesterday, if it wasn't for my friends I wouldn't even have these pics to show you, I was too focused on being a crazy fan.

Happy birthday Mona Checa!

Hago un descanso de mis aburridos apuntes de pragmática para contaros cómo fue la fiesta del viernes en la Mona Checa con motivo de su primer aniversario. La Mona Checa es una de las tiendas básicas en el panorama vintage de Madrid y como asidua que soy a la tienda fue un placer poder disfrutar con Belén y Malu de su primer cumpleaños. No conocía personalmente a las dueñas pero tengo que decir que son majísimas y la charla que tuvimos con Belén dónde nos habló de sus comienzos y de cómo trabajan  fue de lo más inspiradora. Para alguien como yo que no sabe muy bien por dónde ni cómo encaminar su futuro resulta de lo más interesante hablar con gente emprendedora y que lucha por lo que quiere. Despues de escuchar todo lo que Belén nos contó volví a casa más convencida de que si algo quieres, algo te cuesta, pero hay que intentar ir a por ello. En defintiva, fue una tarde noche perfecta rodeadas de lambrusco, una tarta deliciosa y vintage del bueno. No dudéis en pasaros por su blog y por supuesto visitar su tienda en la calle Velarde nº2.

I´m taking a rest from my boring Pragmatics studies to tell you about the party held last Friday at La Mona Checa to celebrate their first anniversary. La Mona Checa is one of the hot spots in the vintage market in Madrid and as a regular client at their store it was a pleasure to join Belén and Malu on their first anniversary. I didn't know the owners personaly but after meeting them I have to say they are very nice girls and the talk we had with Belén about their beginnings and how they work was incredibly inspiring. For me, being a person who is not sure about what to do with her future, is very interesting and encouraging to talk to poeple who are  entrepreneur and fight for what they want. After our little chat I came home totally convinced that if you want something, it might be hard, but you have to fight for it. In conclusion, it was a perfect evening sorrounded with Lambrusco, a delicious cake and great vintage pieces. Don't forget to visit their blog and if you are ever in Madrid don't miss La Mona Checa (C/ Velarde. nº2)

Y aquí estoy yo, que me marcho a seguir estudiando a toda velocidad. En unas horas me acercaré al Día de la Música a ver a uno de mis grupos favoritos. Espero que Glasvegas no me defraude y que el examen que tengo mañana por la mañana no sea un auténtico desastre porque sólo por Glasvegas arriesgo un examen.

And here I am, going back to my Pragmatics to study as much as possible before attending in a few hours a small music festival in Madrid. I´m going to see Glasvegas, one of my favourite bands, and it's only because I love this band that I´m willing to risk tomorrow's exam. Hope they don't  disappoint me.
