Glasgow

Aunque viendo algunas de estas fotos surja la duda, la ciudad aquí retratada es Glasgow. No penséis que todas esas señales y semáforos al más puro estilo americano son originales de Glasgow, pero son necesarios cuando parte de la ciudad se convierte en Philadelphia para grabar una película de zombies con Brad Pitt como protagonista. Es de imaginar que el tema del momento es la visita de Brad Pitt y alguno incluso se anima a buscarle algún doble como se ve en la última foto. 

Por lo demás, pasearme por las calles de Glasgow, con o sin Brad Pitt de por medio, es uno de mis rituales de verano. Es una ciudad genial para ir de compras, y aunque este verano he intentado frenarme un poco, el mero hecho de entrar en Urban Outfitters o American Apparel me sirve para inspirarme y a la vez llenarme de rabia sabiendo que a España no llegan tiendas tan cuidadas. ¿Y qué es lo mejor que hay después de una jornada de compras? Ir a comer a tu restaurante favorito. Wagamama es mi restaurante favorito en Glasgow, pero hay otra pega: ¡tampoco hay Wagamama en España!¡Qué casualidad! Quizás debería dejarlo todo y dedicarme a abrir Wagamamas y Urban Outfitters por toda España. Seguro que así haría feliz a muchos...

Looking at these pictures you might get a bit confused, but I´m telling you, this is Glasgow. Don't think all the American  traffic lights and signs are original from Glasgow, but they are needed when you transform part of the city into Philadelphia with the purpose of filming a zombie movie with Brad Pitt as the protagonist. You can imagine everyone is talking about it and some might even find a double as you can see in the last pic.

Anyway, walking around Glasgow is one of my summer rituals, with or without the chance of bumping into Brad Pitt. It's a great city for shopping, and although this year I tried to control myself, I'm happy just to visit Urban Outfitters and American Apparel and find some inspiration at the same time as I feel terribly annoyed by the fact that we can't find any of these amazing stores in Spain. And what's the best thing to do after some shopping? Having lunch at your favourite restaurant. Wgamama is my favourtie restaurant in Glasgow, but hey! here's another problem, we don't have Wagamama in Spain. How strange! Maybe I should just leave everything and start opening Wagamamas and Urban Outfitters all over Spain, I'm sure I would make a lot of people happy...

Hacía tiempo que no me daba tanta rabia volver a casa después de hacer la visita de rigor a Escocia. Supongo que el hecho de que mi vuelta a casa traiga consigo la vuelta a los estudios no ayuda mucho. Pero la vida es dura y hay que ponerse manos a la obra. Eso sí, lo que más odio al volver a casa es encontrarme con el tiempo veraniego de Madrid. Puede parecer una locura pero se agradece un montón encontrarse con el tiempo nublado y lluvioso de Escocia. Prefiero el frío al calor, no sólo en cuanto a temperatura se refiere sino también en cuanto a tendencias. Una vez que pruebo el tiempo más otoñal que veraniego en Escocia, mis ganas de que llegue el mal tiempo aumentan. Y con las ganas de mal tiempo llegan las ganas de ropa de abrigo.Y he aquí una de las colecciones que más me ha gustado para esta temporada que se avecina. Y es que las hermanas Mulleavy siempre captan mi atención con cada una de sus colecciones. Cada prenda tiene un "algo" dulce que me apasiona. 

I can't remember the last time I was so sad to come back home after my yearly visit to Scotland. I suppose the fact that my exams are close doesn't help. But I have to say, the thing I hate most about coming back home is going back to the hot summer weather in Madrid. It might sound crazy but I really enjoy the cloudy and rainy weather in Scotland. I'm more of a cold weather person, not only because of the cold temperatures but also in means of fashion. Once I have a little taste of fall weather in Scotland my lust for the colder seasons increases. And with this lust comes my need to wear winter clothes. And here is one of my favourite collections for this new season. The Mulleavy sisters always manage to get my attention with every single collection they design. There's something sweet in every single piece.

Arran

Cada verano mi familia y yo aprovechamos para visitar algun lugar de Escocia y en esta ocasion le ha tocado el turno a Arran. La isla de Arran es uno de mis sitios favoritos de Escocia. Aparte de que tiene el tamaño perfecto para recorrerla en unas horas y hacerse una idea de lo que es todo el norte de Escocia, tengo muy buenos recuerdos de uno de mis viajes de camping con mis primos hace cosa de 10 años. Y ha sido precisamente donde estuve de camping hace 10 años donde nos hemos alojado, solo que esta vez hemos dejado las tiendas a un lado y hemos optado por un hotel que nos ha encantado a todos.  Y estas son algunas de las fotos que he sacado, aunque tengo que decir que es muy dificil captar en una foto lo increible que son los paisajes escoceses, hay que verlo en persona.

Every summer my family and I travel somewhere in Scotland and this year it was time to visit Arran again. The Isle of Arran is one of my favourite places in Scotland. It has the perfect size to travel around it in no time and it also brings me really good memories from a camping trip I did with my cousins ten years ago. And it's in that very same place that we stayed last night, only this time instead of sleeping in tends we chose to stay at the hotel, which by the way, we all loved. These are some of the pics I've taken these past couple of days, although I have to say it's basically impossible to capture the beauty of the Scottish scenery in a picture, you have to be there to see it.
