Glossybox + New in

La semana pasada recibí en casa la caja de octubre de GLOSSYBOX. Para los que todavía no conocéis este proyecto, os diré que se trata de una empresa que por una suscripción de 10 euros al mes os envía mensualmente a casa una cajita con 5 muestras de productos de belleza de lujo seleccionados especialmente siguiendo los gustos y necesidades de las suscriptoras. Para las que como yo estáis totalmente fuera del mundo de la cosmética (es una de mis asignaturas pendientes) supongo que puede venirnos bien para ponernos al día de los productos más interesantes. Además siempre tendréis la opción de haceros con el producto en tamaño normal. 

Last week a little present arrived at my doorstep. It was the Octuber box from GLOSSYBOX. In case you still don't know about this project, I'll tell you that it's a company that for 10 euros a month will send you a litlle box every month with 5 samples of amazing beauty products especially chosen according to the suscribers' tastes and needs. For us who don't now much about the beauty world, it's a great chance to get to know all the interesting products out there and there's always the chance to get the product in the regular size.

Cambiando de tema, ayer me pasé todo el día paseando por la zona de Tribunal en busca de mi disfraz de Halloween y, más importante, de mi futuro piso que me abrirá las puertas de la independencia. Todavía no puedo cantar victoria en cuanto al piso, pero al menos encontré un vestido que cumple los requisitos para mi disfraz (que ya os intentaré enseñar) y esta chaqueta tan fea pero tan bonita a la vez. ¿Sabéis a lo que me refiero cuando encontráis una prenda que puede tener un cierto punto hortera o feo pero que a la vez os encanta? Pues eso mismo me pasó con esta chaqueta vintage. Además, las flores me recuerdan ligeramente a los estampados de la colección primavera-verano de Ashis, una de mis favoritas para la próxima temporada, así que más puntos a su favor.

On another note, I spent the whole day yesterday walking around the centre of Madrid looking for my Halloween costume and, more importantly, an appartment to start my life as an independent individual. I can't say I was lucky with the appartment search yet, but I did find a dress that serves my needs for my halloween costume (I´ll try to show you the result) and this ugly but at the same time beautiful vintage jacket. Do you also sometimes find clothes that have some sort of a tacky or ugly touch but you love them anyway? Well, that's what happened with this jacket. Furthermore, the flowers remind me of the prints in Ashis spring collection, and that's a bonus cause it's one of my favourite collections for next season.

Si el otro día os enseñaba a mi hermano Kevin, hoy le toca el turno a mi hermana Alba. Tengo que decir que cuando yo tenía su edad mi sentido de la moda era prácticamente inexistente. Por suerte, ése no es el caso de Alba. Quiero pensar que yo tengo bastante que ver, al fin y al cabo he hecho que crezca en ella una pequeña curiosidad por la blogsfera y además no tengo problema alguno en prestarle mi ropa. Así que, como creo que mi hermana tiene un estilo digno de admiración para una chica de 13 años, hoy os muestro también uno de sus looks. Muy Hannah&John, uno de sus blogs favoritos.

If the other day I introduced you to my brother Kevin, today is my little sister Alba's turn. I have to admit, when I was her age I had no fashion sense at all. Luckily, that's not Alba's case. I like to think I have something to do with that, after all I've introduced her to the blogsphere and I have no problem letting her borrow my clothes. So, because I think Alba's style is pretty cool for a 13 year old girl, I've decided to show you one of her looks. Very Hannah&John, one of her favourite blogs.

Woolrich I

La semana pasada me invitaron a visitar el showroom de Woolrich y me ofrecieron elegir algunas de sus prendas para crear unos estilismos. En cuanto empecé a cotillear la ropa pensé inmediatamente en mi hermano Kevin. Y es que el estilo de Woolrich es la viva imagen del estilo de Kevin. Le vi perfectamente con sus camisas de cuadros y sus increíbles parkas, así que decidí centrar los estilismos en él. Ya que iba a hacer un post especial con mi hermano como protagonista, decidí ir más allá y le pedí a mi amiga Silvia que posara con los estilismos para chica y a Susana que se encargara de las fotos. Y éste es el resultado de la primera sesión.

Woolrich es el tipo de marca que me suele llamar más la atención por las prendas masculinas. Reconozco que soy muy típica y un chico con una buena camisa de cuadros siempre captará mi atención. Ahora bien, las chicas también podemos picar de la ropa de chico y en eso precisamente se basa esta primera sesión.

Las week I was invited to visit Woolrich's showroom in Madrid and I was offered to choose some pieces to create a few looks. The minute I laid my eyes on the clothes, I thought of my brother Kevin. The style Woolrich represents is exactly Kevin's style. I could perfectly see him wearing their checked shirts and amazing parkas, so I decided to use Kevin as my model for the shooting. Considering I was going to do a very special post, I decided to go farther and ask my friend Silvia to model too and Susana to take the pics. And this is the result of our first shooting.

Woolrich is the type of brand that usually  drives my attention to the masculine section. I have to admit, I'm the typical girl who goes crazy for a boy with a great checked shirt. However, us girls can also take advantage of men's clothes and that's what this first shooting is about.

Brief post today. Autumn is finally here and this will probably be my last outfit without tights of the year. 

Curso Beba's Closet

La semana pasada, Belén Barbero, de Beba's Closet, se puso en contacto conmigo para ponerme al día de su último proyecto. Se trata de un curso para promover la formación en moda unida a la gestión de una marca. Me pareció que esta idea podría interesaros a alguno de vosotros, así que pensé que sería conveniente difundirla. Lo interesante de este curso es que se enseñará todo lo necesario para poner en marcha una marca de moda de manera muy práctica y desde la propia experiencia de Belén. También, además de contar con importantes profesionales del sector de la moda para impartir las clases, existirá la posibilidad de realizar prácticas en el taller de Beba's Closet. Así que ya sabéis, si estáis interesados en comenzar o continuar vuestra formación en moda, ésta puede ser una buena oportunidad para hacerlo. A modo personal, os diré que conozco a Belén en persona y es una tía encantadora de la que sin duda podréis aprender mucho. Recuerdo perfectamente aquella visita que hice a su taller hace ya un tiempo (aquí) en la que, después de nuestra charla, salí super contenta con la sensación de haber aprendido un montón de cosas y de una manera muy cercana.

Éste es el look que elegí ayer para la sesión de fotos "amateur" que nos montamos con prendas de la marca Woolrich. Todo muy profesional con modelos, fotógrafa, asistentes y aquí la menda como estilista. Unas ganas locas tengo de mostrar el resultado final.

Os juro que odio sacar fotos por la noche, a no ser, claro está, que se trate de fotos de fiesta. Pero esta vez, y a falta de horas de luz para sacar fotos a lo largo de la semana, he decidido darle a las fotos nocturnas una oportunidad. ¿Repetiré experiencia? No sé. Lo que sí sé es que al menos este fin de semana tendré tiempo para sacar muchas fotos, que tengo varios planes interesantes entre manos.

I swear I hate taking pictures when it's night time, unless of course, we are talking about party pics. But this time, considering I've had no time during the week to take pics when it's day time, I've decided to give night shots a chance. Will I do it again? I'm not sure. But what I do know is that this weekend I'll have lots of time to take lots of pics during the day, I have a few projects in mind.

¿No os pasa que cuando vais en busca de un regalo para alguien os es inevitable buscar cosas para vosotros? A mí sí. Me cuesta mucho concienciarme de que no estoy buscando algo para mí. De hecho son pocas las veces que consigo no gastarme el dinero en mí. Y ayer no fue uno de esos días. Me encontré, casi por casualidad, con este turbante. Siglos llevaba detrás de uno y con más ganas aún lo buscaba después de ver algunos turbantes en la exposición de YSL. Obviamente, no se puede comparar con los del diseñador, pero no podía esperar a enseñaros unas fotos con él. La última de regalo para los que dicen que siempre poso muy seria...

Is it just me, or do you also find it impossible whenever you are buying a present for a friend not to look for stuff for you? Well, that's definitely my case. I find it really hard to focus on not getting anything for myself and I hardly ever manage to do so. And yesterday wasn't any different. I found this turban practically by chance. I had been longing for a turban for a very long time, and this need to get one actually increased after seeing some amazing turbans at the YSL exhibition. It is obvious that you can't compare this turban to the ones the designer made, but I couldn't wait to take some pictures and show it to you. And the last picture, well, that's a little gift for those who say I always look very serious in my pictures.

Reinvent yourself

En época de crisis es el momento de reinventarse. Una ya no se puede permitir estar comprando ropa todo el día cuando se tiene en mente independizarse en breves. Cierto es que no he abandonado las compras por completo, pero sí estoy aprendiendo a controlarme un poco y reutilizar prendas con distintas combinaciones. Y este look es un buen ejemplo de ello. El jersey, si no me equivoco, es de hace dos años, el vestido me lo he puesto hasta la saciedad durante el verano, y las botas, qué decir de mis queridas Doc  Martens y todas las aventuras que he vivido con ellas. 

In times of economic crisis it is time to reinvent yourself. I can't afford to spend as much as I used to on clothes  if I'm planning to move away from home shortly. Although I haven't quit shopping completely, I am learning to spend my money more wisely and to use old pieces in my wardrobe with lots of different combinations. And this outfit is an example of this. The sweater, I think I got it two years ago; the dress, I've worn it practically every day this summer; and the boots, what can I say about my beloved Doc Martens, they've been with me through so much.

Vintage Treasure

Lo bueno de las compras vintage es que muchas veces vas buscando una cosa y al final vuelves a casa con algo completamente distinto. Y eso precisamente es lo que me ha pasado a mí hoy cuando me he encontrado con estos mocasines tan alucinantes de Jaime Mascaró. Amor a primera vista es lo que he sentido. Tanto que,  por primera vez en la historia, me he lanzado a comprar zapatos en una tienda vintage. 

The good thing about vintage shopping is that you might have an idea of what you are looking for in your head, but in the end there's always the chance of going home with something completely different. And that's what happened to me today when I found these amazing loafers by Jaime Marcaró. It was love at first sight. And for the first time ever, I decided to buy shoes at a vintage store.
