British summer

Goldie

Llevo toda la semana ausente. Es lo que tiene recibir visita desde Escocia. Un no parar de fiesta al estilo escocés y no dormir prácticamente nada. Quizás me he dado tal palizón que mis defensas han decidido abandonarme y he acabado con un flemón tremendo en la cara por culpa de una infección y la maldita muela del juicio. Un final pésimo para una semana tan genial. Pero bueno, lo importante es que mi primo y su amigo se lo han pasado de lo lindo y teniendo en cuenta que la próxima vez que les vea será este verano en Escocia, me ha parecido ideal enseñaros estas fotos hoy en el blog. De vez en cuando echo un vistazo a la página de Goldie a ver qué se traen entre manos, y me he encontrado con el lookbook de la colección de verano. El tema es "British Summer" y los estilismos me han parecido geniales para cualquiera de mis veranos en Escocia, que ya sabemos que ahí el verano se parece más a una mezcla entre primavera y otoño más que otra cosa. Así que lo dicho, si queréis ver más, echarle un vistazo al video.

I've been a little bit absent this week. The reason is that my cousin and his friend came to Madrid for a little visit. We've been partying Scottish style all week and I've hardly had any sleep. The problem is that my defenses decided to abandon me and I've ended up with an annoying infection due to my wisdom tooth. Not a very happy ending for a great week. Any way, the important thing is that my cousin and his friend have had an amazing time in Madrid and considering the next time I'll see them will be next summer in Scotland, I thought it would be a good idea to show you these pics from the new Goldie lookbook. I tend to visit their webpage from time to time to see what they are up to and the other day I found their new  "British Summer" lookbook which completely reminded me of the clothes I would like to wear in my summers in Scotland, considering summer there is basically a mix of spring and autumn. La semana pasada se me fue un poco de las manos mi presupuesto para revistas. Es lo que tiene encontrarme con que el quiosco de en frente de mi gimnasio tiene una selección de revistas de moda internacional bastante interesante. Así que no me quedó otra que llevarme Vs, Numéro y Pop a mi casa. Es una delicia perderse entre las páginas de estas revistas. Así que he querido compartir una de las editoriales que más me ha gustado de la revista Pop. ¿Qué os parece?

Last week I didn't stick to my magazine budget and I spent a bit more than usual. I allowed myself to do so when I found out that they had a very interesting international magazine selection at the news-stand outside my gym. I brought home Vs, Numéro and Pop. It's so amazing to have these magazines in your hands and get lost in their editorials. I've decided to share with you one of my favourite editorials from Pop Magazine. What do you think?

Ayer me encontré con este abrigo en Magpie. Por un lado me recordó a los típicos abrigos que llevan las abuelas británicas (al menos mi abuela tenía algún que otro abrigo muy parecido a éste), pero también a un abrigo que vería puesto en cualquiera de las componentes de anywho. He decidido decantarme por que me inspira un rollo más nórdico. Ahora sólo me falta ser alta y delgada para pasar por una de ellas...

I found this coat at Magpie yesterday. On the one hand it remind me of the typical coat a grandmother would wear (at least mine used to wear coats like this), but on the other hand it looked like something the girls at anywho would wear. I decided to stick to the nordic inspiration. Now I only need to be thin and tall to look like one of them...

Hoping for the best

He aquí un post express para enseñaros mi nuevo tatuaje. Llevaba muchos años dándole vueltas al tema de tatuarme otra vez. El problema es que lo que tenía en mente era una cita bastante deprimente pero con la que para bien o para mal siempre me he identificado. Si, soy muy de la filosofía de "Hoping for the best but expecting the worst". Pero tener una perspectiva negativa de las cosas no es muy recomendable. Y eso es algo que tengo que aprender de una vez por todas. Así que, para pasarme al lado de la positividad, decidí acortar la frase y quedarme con el lado esperanzador de la cita. Y he aquí el resultado. Por cierto, la caligrafía está hecha nada más y nada menos por mi compi Tichún.

 ¡Ya estoy pensando en el siguiente!

Here's a quick post to show you my new tattoo. I had been thinking about getting another tattoo for years. The thing is what I had in mind was a bit of a depressing quote. Yes, I can identify myself with the philosophy of "Hoping for the best but expecting the worst". But having a negative attitude is not helpful at all. And that's something I have to acknowledge once and for all. So, in order to start walking on the positive side of life, I decided to shorten the sentence and stick to the hopeful part of the quote. And this is the result. By the way, it's my flatmate's handwriting. 

I'm already thinking about getting another tattoo!

Like Crystal Castles

De hace casi 5 meses son estas fotos. Pero aún no había tenido tiempo para escanearlas y enseñarlas por aquí. Es de uno de esos días en los que nos daba por gastarnos a base de bien un par de cámaras de usar y tirar de las que tanto me gustan. Con un resultado que me recuerda mucho a mis queridos Crystal Castles...

Por cierto, las protas son mi hermana y Tichún, ya conocida por parte del mundo blogger pero para quien no lo sepa es mi compi de piso.

These pics were taken nearly 5 months ago, but I hadn't had time to scan them and show them to you. They are from one of these days when we decided to use a couple of disposable cameras taking shots non-stop. I would say the result is ver Crystal Castles...

Malasaña

Hoy la cosa también incluye video. El otro día me informaron desde H Magazine de la nueva acción que han hecho junto con We are Standard y Swatch. Teniendo en cuenta que se trata de una de las revistas que más me gustan últimamente, uno de los grupos españoles a los que más sigo y de unos relojes molones, me pareció interesante publicarlo por aquí. ¿Y de qué se trata la acción? Pues Swatch, para dar a conocer su nueva línea New Gent Lacquered, ha creado una serie de editoriales con distintas revistas con personajes relevantes dentro del mundo de la música, la moda y el cine en los que se muestran los lugares favoritos de los protagonistas. En el caso de H Magazine y We are Standard han elegido el barrio de Malasaña. ¡Mi barrio! Así que como cada vez me voy sintiendo más malasañera no me quedaba otra que enseñaros este video para mostraros mi nuevo barrio.

Turn for a video again. The other day, H Magazine contacted me to tell me about their new iniciative with We are Standard and Swatch. Considering H Magazine is one of the magazines I'm more into these days, We are Standard is one of my favourite Spanish bands and Swatch have made a really cool new collection I thought it would be interesting to tell you about it. Swatch has joined forces with different magazines to create editorials with relevant people from the music, fashion and film industry where they show the places that ispire them. H Magazine and We are Standard have chosen Malasaña, my new neighbourhood! So taking into account I'm really starting to feel more and more confortable in my new area I couldn't resist showing you this video to introduce you to some of the coolest places in my beloved Malasaña.

Me encanta ver este tipo de videos. Y es que curiosear y adentrarme en la vida de gente interesante que se dedica a lo que verdaderamente le apasiona me gusta. Quizás gran parte de mi interés se deba a la mezcla de envidia y admiración que siento por la gente privilegiada que disfruta de su trabajo. Lo que por si no ha quedado claro, no es mi caso. Quizás algún día...

I love watching this type of video. Learning about the lifes of interesting people who work at what they love is something that I really enjoy. Perharps this interest comes from the mix of envy and admiration I feel towards people who are lucky enough to do what they love. Which, just in case it's not obvious enough, isn't my case. Who knows, maybe some day...

Pocas son las ocasiones en las que llevo accesorios llamativos. No porque no me gusten, sino porque a la hora de comprar siempre suelo centrarme en otras prendas. Pero eso va a cambiar. Estos dos collares me van a acompañar muy a menudo a partir de ahora.

I don't tend to wear big accessories. Not because I don't like them, just because when ever I go shopping I tend to concentrate my attention on other items. But that's defenitily going to chance soon. These necklaces will become very good friends of mine this new season to come.
